Group Picture - Special Event

........It took residents of Haddam only a few days to come up with answers as to the occasion, date, and location of the marble slab shown in the picture.

  • The marble slab is still in Haddam.
  • The slab is 8" deep by 26" long and 12" high.
  • There is a "slot" on the top. Size: 9 1/4" x 2 3/4" by 3 1/4" deep.
  • The current owner was told that the slab had a sealed lead box inside.
  • Sealed lead box contained a Bible and maybe other items.
  • Apparently somewhat of a time capsule.
  • Present location was once a Christian Church of rather short duration
  • Inscribed on the slab:
    Oct 1, 1911
    A.L.5911

    Alex, A. Sharp. G.M.

    W. Grand Lodge of A.F.& A.M.

    Of Kansas
